August 2014
I was a happy marquee wedding photographer for gorgeous Laura & hunky Tom in mid-August. I was happy because, not only but also, Laura had chosen a dress from Candy Anthony , my favourite wedding dress designer. I don’t often go overboard mentioning wedding dresses, and not every girl can wear a Candy Anthony dress, but for Laura it was a perfect extension of her personality and combined her favourite colour, yellow. Just look at those getting ready pictures. Such fun!
With all the venues local and close-by I had plenty of time to get pictures of Tom, his family and Groomsmen getting suitably fortified at the Church Green pub before moving on to photograph the Girls. To contrast and compliment Laura’s dress her bridesmaids looked stunning in coral pink, a feast for the eyes. Mum and Dad weren’t to be overshadowed either and I have to say everyone really looked fantastic.
Because Laura’s parents’ house has been a family farm handed down through the generations, the Bride and Groom’s limo of choice was naturally a beautifully spruced up Landie (see the special spare wheel cover). As with Lindsey and John’s wedding the day before I was not allowed take up my preferred position in the choir seats at the church. At least with the yellow bow around Laura’s waist there was something special to draw the eye in for those long shots from the back of the church. St Mary’s in Lymm also has rather fine stained glass, and with the sun shining I felt I really got the best from the ceremony pictures. Laura’s parents Fiona and Paul were themselves married at the very same church and it was a nice touch to replicate their own wedding pictures, this time with Laura and Tom.
Back at Fiona and Paul’s house I soon got busy with all the must-get pictures before everyone sat for the Wedding Breakfast. What a pity that the wheat field opposite which I used for some of the Bride & Groom pictures had been harvested only a few days before. The Wedding Breakfast felt like one ginormous family gathering and the speeches were warm and very personable, much like all the guests. Everyone made me feel very included and this translated into pictures I felt captured the essence of the day. The evening was topped off by my favourite wedding band, Groovy Revolution They have the knack of getting everyone on the dance floor immediately with music that flows so well that people only stop dancing to get breath and take on refreshments. They play all styles and segue smoothly from one hit song to another to keep the tempo on the boil quite effortlessly, a trick not managed by any other band I’ve heard. Impressive! Fab wedding, fab people, fab job I’ve got!
