October 2014
Marion & David had a particularly heart-warming Shrigley Hall wedding in early October. It was memorable because after tragedies both have found love again in later life. In fact they have found it in abundance and this was one of the most romantic weddings I have photographed in 2014. Dapper David looked like the cat that got the cream and beamed all day, and no wonder, because Marion looked stunning and fitted her dress to perfection. A very handsome couple.
David’s lovely daughters were amongst the bridesmaids (fabulous purple dresses girls!) and they came to Marion’s rescue when nerves got the better of her at the start of the day, hence the planned getting ready pictures never happened. But as soon as the ceremony was over all was well, with David & Marion giving me plenty of time to make best use of the ample backdrops Shrigley Hall weddings affords photographers.
The weather was typical for October, fair but chilly. Everything ran according to plan with just enough time for me to shoot most of my planned B&G shots. There are some, like the glass cupola at the top of the stairs, that are unique to Shrigley Hall, and Marion’s hour-glass figure made these all the more impactful.
After a very relaxed Wedding Breakfast the evening guests arrived and Marion and David performed the most impressive First Dance routine I’ve photographed all year. So often the First Dance lasts all of 15 seconds before the B&G chicken out and beckon everyone else onto the dancefloor. Not so Marion & David! They know how to boogie and strutted their stuff for a whole long track! David is a Liverpool boy and loves to dance. Naturally he chose a fantastic live band in Madison and they certainly got everyone hopping.
